The 501 Mahjong League is Central Arkansas's premier mahjong community, bringing together players of all skill levels for regular play sessions, friendly competition, and social connection. Named after our area code, we're proud to represent the best of Southern hospitality and mahjong tradition.
Whether you're a seasoned player or just getting comfortable with the game, our league offers a welcoming environment to play, learn, and grow. We follow National Mah Jongg League rules and celebrate both competitive spirit and community connection.
We believe in complete openness with our members. All membership fees are reported publicly on this site — and so are every expense we incur. Every dollar collected goes directly toward renting venues for events and covering event costs like food, decorations, prizes, and supplies. Nothing more, nothing less.

No! While we recommend taking a Beginner Basics workshop first, players of all skill levels are welcome. We have a supportive community that helps newer players learn and grow.
Just bring your NMJL card (current year) and enthusiasm! We provide all tiles, racks, and tables. NMJL cards can be ordered online through the National Mah Jongg League website.
Yes! Contact us to arrange a guest visit. We offer one complimentary guest session so you can experience league play before committing to membership.
Our tournaments follow house rules with a friendly, social atmosphere. We track wins throughout the year and recognize top players at our annual celebration. It's competitive but always fun!
